Sleep is an important factor in maintaining mental health, yet it is often overlooked or disregarded. The average person needs 7-9 hours of sleep per night to function optimally; however, many people do not get enough restful sleep regularly. Poor sleeping habits can lead to physical and mental fatigue which can have detrimental effects on overall well-being. Individuals need to prioritize rest and restoration to maintain their mental health. A lack of adequate sleep has been linked with various psychological issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, mood swings, and difficulty concentrating or focusing attention span on tasks at hand.
